Lerwick, Shetland

Posted on October 29, 2015November 20, 2015

I visited Lerwick, Shetland in October 2015. The weather, like all places beside the North Sea, was changeable! I have used black and white for these pictures, to convey the cold bleakness that Lerwick often experiences.

I will be posting more pictures from my trip to beautiful Shetland, once I have processed them.

The image nicely conveys the mood of a grey day – sombre and tranquil, yet with the promise of better light to come!

These are beautiful, Penny. Thanks for sharing! I love the grey bleakness of it all — very atmospheric. Suggests a warm sweater of Scottish wool and a pot of fresh coffee at the ready!

Oooh, I’m cold just wandering through your Lerwick streets! Lovely pix. How do you get the temperature transferred via images?

What beautiful atmospheric photos, Penny! Black & White works perfectly for the mood of the shots as well as the stone buildings. You have a great eye. I want to travel there!
