I spent the last few days of September up at Cathedral Lakes Provincial Park, staying at the highest lodge in British Columbia with hiking friends. The weather was glorious, with a light dusting of snow just before we arrived and beautiful sunny, relatively warm days while we were there. The attraction of going to the area at this time of year is to see the golden larches, which are peculiar to this area of southern BC.

Looks like fabulous weather in a gorgeous place! Black and white just couldn’t convey the beauty of larches in fall…!! Thanks
Beautiful scenery — so glad the weather cooperated — wonderful photos. Interesting to learn about yellow larches — I guess they turn yellow only at this time of year? Anyway contrast with green is very photogenic.
What gorgeous colour and weather! You timed it just right.

Fabulous photos, Penny. Lovely to see the larches in all their glory.
